O&L Leisure Today - June 2019

Posted on Wed June 5, 2019.

Farewell, but never “good bye”

Staying ahead and constantly evolving, results in creating winning teams that lead a business to greater heights and I would thus like to announce that my tenure as MD of O&L Leisure will come to an end at the end of June 2019. I have accepted to lead the Broll Namibia team as Managing Director, effective 1 July 2019.

I can assure you that this was not an easy decision to make. O & L Leisure is like family to me, however, in light of the bigger picture, this is also the right time for growth and new beginnings.

I will leave with very fond memories of committed and dedicated individuals who are passionate about hosting and providing memorable experiences and a business that is well on course to realizing its full potential.
I am therefore pleased to announce that  Mr Norbert Wurm – currently the MD of Pick n Pay (PnP) Namibia – will assume his new position as Managing Director of O&L Leisure, effective 1 July 2019. Norbert is a Chartered Accountant with a strong leadership background and has been with the O&L Group for 10 years, starting off at NBL in June 2009 and moving to PnP in July 2013. Says Norbert: “My purpose is to ‘Enable people to succeed’ and while there is definitely a sense of sadness leaving my PnP family behind, I am excited to take the leadership of the O&L purpose to the next level. With my love for nature, my passion for people and creating amazing experiences, I look forward to play my part in contributing to the success of O&L Leisure and her people.”
The appointment of Norbert is a clear reflection of the company’s current state of being ready to take on the future and being all fired up after another strong and successful year.
I am confident that you will give Norbert your full support. Please join me in welcoming him to the O&L Leisure team, wishing him a fruitful and exciting experience!
With those few words, I also say Goodbye and thank you for the four memorable years. Each individual contributed to making my experience very special. I wish you all success towards Vision 2025.
Kind regards,
Terence Makari
