In April 2025, we're reimagining the way travellers connect with Namibia. The launch of our first Leisure Chapter boutique at the Strand Hotel Swakopmund is an invitation to experience the soul of Africa through its most extraordinary craftsmanship.

Through our eyes, Africa’s soul comes alive in every crafted collection.

A living gallery of culture

Leisure Chapter is a carefully chosen boutique space where each item tells a story that celebrates the rich tapestry of Namibian and African creativity. We've moved beyond the conventional souvenir concept to create something truly extraordinary: a destination within a destination.

The extraordinary stories behind extraordinary goods

Take, for example, the wire animal sculptures by Zimbabwean Bongani from Sunshine Arts. Each delicate piece is not only a decorative item but also a testament to resilience. Bongani's journey from creating childhood toys to becoming an internationally recognised artist represents the spirit of creativity that Leisure Chapter celebrates.

Or consider the hand-dyed t-shirts from Tones of Africa, where every vibrant design captures the essence of African wildlife and contributes to elephant conservation, the Zambezi Elephant Fund. These are clothes and at the same time wearable stories of hope and preservation.

Sustainability is not just a buzzword at O&L Leisure

We're saying no to mass-produced, generic souvenirs. Instead, we're saying yes to:

  • Carefully selected and developed collections that support African communities
  • Sustainable production methods that respect our environment
  • Preserving cultural heritage through economic empowerment

Each purchase at Leisure Chapter directly supports artisans like the Zulu women of Jabulani, who create beautiful beadwork while overcoming significant personal challenges or the weavers from the Kavango region who transform Makalani palm fibres into intricate baskets.

Our collection features premium, exclusive items you won't find anywhere else. From Granadilla's – in Cape Town produced - swimwear to Sexy Socks' environmentally conscious designs, every product represents the peak of African creativity and craftsmanship.
